Joanna Gill

Joanna Gill is a British journalist based in Brussels, Belgium whose work on TV and in print has featured on Reuters, AFP, Euronews, Channel 4 news (UK), and others.

She has spent 15 years reporting on the EU connecting policy to the people it impacts. Her work has charted the major crises affecting Europe from the economic and financial meltdown in 2008-9, the Syrian refugee crisis in 2015 and the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020-22. A graduate of the University of Edinburgh with a Master’s degree in History, she went on to study cinema in Belgium.

Her audiovisual work has been selected for various European film festivals. She co-directed a documentary on Scottish independence ‘Social Fabric’ which can be found in the National Museum of Scotland’s archive.
