Sadiya Ansari

Sadiya Ansari is a Pakistani-Canadian journalist based in Berlin whose work has appeared in the Guardian, VICE, Maclean’s, The Walrus, Toronto Star, Globe and Mail, HuffPost and more.

Sadiya has spent more than a decade reporting on migration, race and multiculturalism, from deeply-researched features on the lessons from Germany's open border policy to the scramble to find culturally-competent care for the elderly in Canada. She was selected as a 2021 R. James Travers Foreign Corresponding Fellow.

Her work has also been supported by the International Center for Journalists, Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council and Toronto Arts Council. She holds a Masters of Public Administration from Queen’s University and a Masters of Journalism from the University of British Columbia.
