Ludovica Jona

Ludovica Jona is a freelance journalist and a communication expert based in Rome.

She has a degree in Political Science and a specialisation in International Relations and Multimedia communication at the Fondazione Lelio Basso Journalism School. Member of the Italian Journalists Association since 2008, she worked for different media outlets as Agi, Rainews, L'Unità, E Polis, Left, Altreconomia and Redattore Sociale. She also worked as a media officer for international ngos as Oxfam. In 2014 she wrote the book "Train Stations: how to restore a heritage", a reportage from 50 abandoned train stations which are now used by local associations for social, cultural and touristic projects.

She is the author of the documentary "Mohamed and the Fisherman" and broadcasten by different European tv channels (RaiStoria in Italy, Yle in Finland, SF-DRS in Switzerland) and selected in various film festivals. In 2011 she produced for the national TV channel Rainews the 23-minute video-reportage “Terminal Rifugiati”, which explores the Italian "business on refugees" issue and talks of various cooperatives, later involved in the public inquiry "Mafia Capitale" launched by the Italian magistrature in 2014.

She speaks English, Spanish and French and has a special interest in data journalism.
